LJORIE MASON
Eljorie was a founding member and our first vice president. Due to her tireless efforts and devotion to the cause, we have a strong foundation. Eljorie was one of the spark plugs that helped us through the first few years. Nothing we ever did was impossible! She always - no matter how difficult things might be - would just give us her wonderful smile and say things would get solved. We will miss the joy that she would bring to the meetings and to our events.

DAVE OWENS
Over the years Dave volunteered to help and had many great suggestions for us. When you ran into him at various stores he would always inquire as to how things were going. If he heard of a problem he would come or call with suggestions to help solve it.

SOUTHWEST GENERAL DELEGATES MEETING
On April 6, 2023, we were well represented at the Southwest General Delegate meeting by Zoe Nechvatal. Once a year each of the six cities that support Southwest General is asked to send delegates from groups within their districts. After a long day at school - and before tackling her homework - Zoe spent over an hour at the meeting. She is a great reflection upon her school, us, and her family. BRAVO ZULU, Zoe. We are so proud of you and your dedication and your hard work.

MEMORIAL DAY, 2023 (ANTICIPATED)
On Saturday, May 27, 2023, the New Chestnut Grove Cemetery and The Historical Society will have a brief (approx. 20 minutes) ceremony in honor of Decoration Day. It will be at 11:00 a.m. at the American Legion Post 403 Memorial, New Chestnut Grove Cemetery.

On Monday, May 29, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. the City of Olmsted Falls will have our annual Memorial Day parade (starting 9:30 a.m.). It will be followed by a ceremony at the Village Green. At the conclusion of the services those wishing may go to the Harding Bridge where the HSOF will have a brief ceremony at Plum Creek in honor of the fallen. It is a revival of a long ago ceremony. Red carnations will be dropped in honor of the five military branches; Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard; we should consider adding the newly formed Space Command for Armistice Day. Veterans Day is for all the military; white carnations: the WAVES, WACS, and MERCHANT MARINE, and a limited number of pink carnations to drop in honor of a family member/friend.

PICNIC.
On Monday, June 12, 2023, 6:00 p.m., we will have our annual picnic at East River Park... The HSOF will furnish the hot dogs, buns, drinks, and cake. If you would like to bring a side dish to share with the meal, that would be ok.  At the picnic the "The Key Person in Preserving Olmsted Falls History." will be presented.

OFFICERS
As you may recall, we recently had an election for officers. Now for what you have been eagerly anticipating - the results:
President Wm. Eichenberg Jr.
Vice President, Lois Rowland
Treasurer: Barb Wehe
Secretary: Bev Smith

As you have noticed, we have lost a number of founding members - our spark plugs. It's because of their hard work and devotion to doing things right back in 2006- that we are well established,
WME
